cups 1.6+ removed serial and parallel backends

Hi,

the recent CUPS bump (1.5 -> 1.7) left my parallel printer without its
parallel backend.

According to http://www.cups.org/str.php?L3935 the removed backends and
filters are now in cups-filters which equals to print/cups-filters
(thanks wiz).

The problem is, that I'm unable to build the latter package:

Does cups-filters really require X and if not, where is that
PKG_FAIL_REASON being set?
