Point taken.

It looks to me, though, as if git were many things to many people (a 
bit like subversion), and there is not the one obvious workflow. That 
is why I asked for an introduction to how pkgsrc-wip uses git, not a 
general one. If this can be done by pointing to existing tutorials that 
describe git _as it is used in the pkgsrc wip workflow_ - all the 
better.
