Not at all, Linux is a fully supported platform. Could you check your
pkgsrc is ok and you have pkgsrc/lang/nawk/files/awk.h - it's as if
that file wasn't copied correctly into the build area.
Any details you can provide (which Linux distribution, compiler, etc)
are always helpful for these types of report.
