sablotron
So it seems that textproc/sablotron's upstream has disappeared, and
there's an inactive repo on sourceforget that seems to have been
created by someone else. Meanwhile, the perl bindings don't work on
LP64. (PR 51903)
So:
- does anyone know anything about the history of this package?
- are there reasons to like it, e.g. perhaps it's well written, or
fast, or has features not in possible alternatives?
There's at least one thing using it (also noted in the PR) so removing
it probably isn't the right plan right now; the question is really
whether it's worth putting a bit of maintenance effort in.
(It seems to be C++ code and has only accumulated one patch over ten
years, so it must be relatively passable inside... as has been noted
elsewhere there's a tendency for well-written code to become orphaned
more readily than crap, and this is not a good long-term situation.)
