R certificate issue

Anyone know of a permanent fix for this issue?

Same error on CentOS 6 and NetBSD 7.1.

We can work around it on CentOS using this before launching R:

export CURL_CA_BUNDLE=/etc/ssl/certs/ca-bundle.trust.crt
