It's almost certainly not about pkg_rolling-replace, but about building a package when a bunch of other packages are already installed. In theory, the dependencies are added via bl3 files and everythihg else that exists does not matter. In practice, it sometimes does. With a bulk build, the depending packages are not present. With make replace, the depending packages are still there. So if this is really the issue, the fix is to make the gobject-introspection build not look at files that are not specified by included bl3 files. Of course, that may be easier said than done.
