Remember, you can't mix and match GCC versions. Yes indeed, that makes sense. But I notice that www/firefox also sets GCC_REQD in its Makefile. The goal hasn't been perfectly reached yet. Maybe, there should be a check somewhere if a Makefile wants a higher gcc version than was set globally.
