pkgsrc-2018Q1 packages for illumos now available
Hi all,
I'm pleased to announce that the pkgsrc-2018Q1 binary package sets for
illumos are now available. As always you can install pkgsrc using the
instructions here:
https://pkgsrc.joyent.com/install-on-illumos/
Of note for illumos users in this release are new packages for
Clang/LLVM 6.0.0rc3. This compiler suite has been patched to
successfully build over 17,000 packages with pkgsrc, and should be
suitable for general use.
SmartOS users should use the new 18.1.0 images via imgadm(1M) due to
be released shortly.

- Infrastructure changes:
- TEST_DEPENDS has been introduced, along with :test support for
USE_TOOLS.
- USE_LANGUAGES now supports gnu++03 and c++03 to explicitly set
the standard and allow older packages to build with newer
compilers. Many packages have additionally been fixed to use
these.
- Commit stats since 2017Q4:
- 213 packages added
- 76 packages removed
- 1,979 package updates (to 1,355 unique packages)
- 4,955 commits from 69 contributors
