Failure to build lang/rust

With pkgsrc updated about 15 hours ago, I am seeing the following 
repeatable error message when trying to build lang/rust from within a 
chroot sandbox:

   Compiling cargo v0.26.0 (file:///tmp/pkgs/lang/rust/work.x86_64/rustc-1.25.0-src/src/tools/cargo)
