Also, see pkgsrc/doc/pkgsrc.txt. send-pr fires up an editor. So you create a diff into a file, and then you insert the diff into the buffer when filling out the bug report. A benefit of send-pr, besides having the patch not get lost, is that it's more likely that the diff will not be mangled by a Mail User Agent designed to send html in multiple colors instead of to transfer patches without breaking them. Overall, if you are going to learn one approach or the other, I'd recommend wip, especially if you already know how to use git.
