Re: Newsboat is crashing on startup

This comes out periodically. Last year, around August, a similar discussion was held (search for newsbeuter, regarding SDF.org setup). The latest (2.9) pkgsrc version doesn't even compile under -current out of the box ( is_error function not defined ); if one takes the invocations out the above crash happens, even with LANG defined as suggested.

I agree that it should be fixed, but I did not figure out the correct
fix yet. As a workaround, have you tried setting LANG=en_US.UTF-8
(or another suitable value) before running newsboat?
