With all the assembled knowledge about xfig, maybe there is a solution
for another issue: I've been using xfig from pkgsrc on Solaris in
recent years, and it is always complaining that it can not find the
correct fonts. Text in xfig is not scaled correctly while working on
screen, you always have to export the drawing to PostScript/PDF and
check the result there.

I dug a little into this issue some time ago. I think I found
hardcoded fonts in the source code and no way to change them with e.g.
app-defaults, so I decided that there is little to do about it. Is
there some "pkgsrc-friendly" way to make xfig more portable with
respect to fonts?
