devel/gobject-introspection on macos

Hello,

   I know <subj> has had at least two rounds of discussions previously,
and I recall from reading one of the threads that there's a problem
which needs to be fixed upstream and also that the fix is not trivial,
which is why it hasn't been fixed yet.

   Anyone know the current status on this?  Is there some way to work
around the issue (disable gobject-inspection support in packages which
depend on it, etc)?
