As a sanity check, I nuked my local copy of the distfile and re-fetched
it.  The problem persists, so the distfile at sourceforge contains
corrupt PNG files.

That said, the latest enigma is v1.21 (2014).  I've fetched its distfile
and the graphic element PNG files are all fine.

Perhaps an update of "games/enigma" is in order?
