This has nothing to do with the build system. Instead, your cpp is segfaulting. I seem to remember a recent thread about cpp crashes.

This is from today's sources, a pkg_rolling-replace build after
explicitly marking meson and ninja-build for rebuild.
Am I missing anything important, or is this just the Brave New World of
