libxml2 building issue

Greetings!

I have an issue with latest pkgsrc building libxml2 as a dependency.

=> Checking file-check results for libxml2-2.9.10nb3
sh: cannot create 
/usr/pkgsrc/textproc/libxml2/work/.error/check-files-prefix: directory 
nonexistent
*** Error code 2

Stop.
make[2]: stopped in /amd/pkgsrc/host/export/packages/pkgsrc/textproc/libxml2
*** Error code 1

Stop.
make[1]: stopped in /amd/pkgsrc/host/export/packages/pkgsrc/textproc/libxml2
*** Error code 1

Stop.
make: stopped in /net/pkgsrc/export/packages/pkgsrc/net/lldpd

If I create this directory manually

mkdir -p /usr/pkgsrc/textproc/libxml2/work/.error/

building continues as intended. It's a minor issue but I wonder
what can be a problem here?
