devel/py-adb vs adb_shell

I was looking for android adb interface from NetBSD host.

I am currently launching adb shell on the android device and passing
commands to it. This works, but I came across devel/py-adb and wonder
whether that would be a bit neater if not faster also.

I noticed the following remark on upstream of devel/py-adb:

"For a better maintained option, look at adb_shell."

Last release of this is as of May 18.

The adb_shell says:
https://github.com/JeffLIrion/adb_shell
"It originated from python-adb."

Its last release is of Jun 21.

So looks like the baton has been passed.

Is anyone using devel/py-adb and could advise if it's lacking things that
you came across and should adb_shell be tried instead?
