I have an ATI Mobility Radeon in a Laptop (Inspiron 4100), and it does

The install on this system came from an XFree (and everything else) build
I did about a month ago, put on a CD, then installed clean onto this
laptop.  (Xfree 4.2.0 I guess it is).

It doesn't bother me much, as I rarely leave X.
