I don't think there is any easy magic way. You can get raw dump
of the disk space, and collect pieces of individual
files together manually. If that space was used as backup (and thus
written once), you have quite a good chance to have file
contents quite continual. The data shouldn't be too damaged if you
didn't use the space yet, the only thing written to new filesystem
are the inode maps on start, and superblock backups.
