That's exactly what I saw on my ultra2. Some time ago I sent a patch
for hme.c on this list(that was a result on my attempts to understand
what's going on). And that patch in conjunction with continious pinging
of booted box got me to the shell(wow!) but it was very slow.

Excercise proved that it can work, and the problem is around hme, don't
know how good hme works for other, is it hme/sbus or just hme or whatever
else it can be. I'm looking into it in spare time... along with other
sparc related thing.
