I have no idea if the attached ddb dump is of any use to anyone, but
thought I'd submit it just in case. This is on:
NetBSD ida 1.6ZI NetBSD 1.6ZI (IDA) #0: Thu Feb 5 03:51:55 CET 2004
root@ida:/local/build/obj/usr/src/sys/arch/sparc64/compile/IDA sparc64
I get this while trying to build the mysql4-server package. I tried
twice; the first time I got a completely different backtrace (which I
forgot to save) -- seemingly deep down in vfs/ffs during page-in/text
fault operations.
I am trying to build a little private production machine out of my U1.
I know it's insane to use -current for production servers, but it's got
native pthreads and has usually been surprisingly stable for me, so I
thought I'd give it a try. :-)
Seeing as that plan is failing right now, what would other sparc64 users
recommend? Forgetting about native pthreads[0] and await 1.6.2? This is
for my private little server at the local computer club, and it will be
running a webserver, mysql4, exim, bind9 and a tidbit of other things,
and I don't expect any extraordinary load on it.
[0] They don't have to be native per se, but I really want _preemptive_
pthreads and {mit,unproven}-pthreads aren't available for sparc64
afaict.
