Somebody else can probably explain this more than I, but your framebuffer on
your Ultra 5 may be one of those that have sketchy support, see the port's
page for details (http://www.netbsd.org/Ports/sparc64/)
I've gotten X working fine on my older Ultra2, but that has a simple Sbus
frame-buffer. I'm know the Ultra 5 has a PCI (mach64?) framebuffer.
