I'm not sure about the Rages, but I guess the above applies to them too - the fact that Sun used ATi parts may be a hint ( but not a strong one - it's not impossible to access the legacy stuff on a Sun - just not too convenient )

well, there are two of the same card i got for my mac (64M 7000), only with S-Video on ebay
right now. $6. that's an acceptable price. ;)

hmm, that's not a bad idea, but i wonder which will happen first, getting my friend
to ship me the U5, or us getting the Radeon working in the mac. ;)

ROM images for Suns will be a LOT harder to get ( if they exist at all ) but in theory the fcode stuff should work - OpenFirmware is based on an earlier version of Sun's OpenBOOT after all, so there is a chance. But I wouldn't bet on Sun and Apple OF being in any way compatible, at least both will have proprietary extensions.

hmmm, i wonder if my friend saved the Sun ROMs off of his 7000 when he flashed
it to Mac. i'll have to check. i do know that Sun ROMs exist for radeon 7000
however. ;)
