It's suided. Problems occur with using xdm. First no environment is
exported,
so you got to workaround .xinitrc and .xsession to start a window manager.
But
the more severe thing is that the DISPLAY is blocked. No chance to allow
remote
apps to display on the server (with xhost+). In addition there is no
support for 64 bit firefox, mozilla blows up, and also other browsers are
really
hard to setup. So no browser on the host system, and no chance for remote
browsers..
Actually i'm running the server as root which is the only pragmatic solution
at the
moment.
As many companies and universities are selling/giving out their sparc and
sparc64 systems since quite a time, i think the demand for solving this
really old ffb
problem (2001 ?) is more urgent than ever.

Sorry, all i can help with is testing any new code i get on an u60 with a
Creator3d. But if you provide me the right documentation/spec locations it
should be no problem to get into the details of the driver and hw for me.
Maybe i can help with an approach from the u60 side ?
