Ah, OK - the only app I've used with anti-aliased text I've used is Firefox
(running remotely on an OpenSolaris system). Once I have my system working
stably, I'll try xterm with TrueType fonts, konqueror, etc.

I sometimes saw "dirt" on the display when scrolling in xterm or moving the
mouse.
