That's what I thought, but what eeh said made me unsure.  It's been way
too long since I looked at that code for me to feel confident I know
details like that on my own hook, and I suspect most of what I do know
about it dates from 1.4T (where I got my hands dirty in that code
implementing a reverse multiplexer).

Yes: it doesn't involve GPLv3.
