Try having a look in the Master Sun format.dat file, it has specs on a
larger range of drives than the NetBSD /etc/disktab.
URL: http://www.lib.ox.ac.uk/internet/news/faq/archive/Master_Sun_format.dat.html
Our MicroVAX II here also has a Maxtor drive "MAXTOR XT-8760E", the
notes from the master sun format.dat ....
disk_type = "Maxtor XT-8760E" \
: ctlr = MD21 \
: ncyl = 1616 : acyl = 6 : pcyl = 1632 : nhead = 15 : nsect = 50 \
: rpm = 3600 : bpt = 31410
partition = "Maxtor XT-8760E" \
: disk = "Maxtor XT-8760E" : ctlr = MD21 \
: a = 0, 97500 : b = 878, 63750 : c = 0, 1212000 : g = 130, 561000 \
: d = 130, 280500 : e = 504, 280500 : f = 963, 489750 : h = 0, 658500
I think I should be able to translate this into a disktab entry myself,
any advice would be welcomed..
The specs for you drive MAXTOR XT-4380E aren't in the file, but I did
find the ones for it's SCSI brother:
disk_type = "Maxtor XT-4380S" \
: ctlr = MD21 \
: ncyl = 1202 : acyl = 2 : pcyl = 1224 : nhead = 15 : nsect = 36 \
: rpm = 3600 : bpt = 18432
Hope this helps...
Also, does anyone have info on the following VAX hardware?
RA90 disk drives
RA92 disk drives
VAX 6420 (no memory)
HS50 mass storage
TX78U tape drive
XSI Exabyte tape drive
We have been offered the above hardware here and I would like to find
out more about it, the only thing we know so far is that it is big (like
all good VAXen should be :) )
Yours
Mark
