Well, let's see. I have NetBSD running on my MicroVAX II. Unfortunately, my
MicroVAX has a TK70 drive rather than a TK50 drive, therefore I won't be
able to build tapes on it to boot my 2000s or my 3100. In order to build
tapes, I'll have to do it on one of my 2000s, but I don't want to preclude
running NetBSD on the 200s by installing VMS on the hard drive. Therefore,
I'm currently installing VMS on my 3520 ( a VAXserver since I pulled the
graphics cards) and will cluster a 2000 to it as a diskless workstation.

My MicroVAX II does have an Ethernet card in it, so I can move things I
compile from there to the 2000 for use on either 2000s or the 3100, but
I don't currently have cable installed between all my machines. So my next
big project will be to buy some coax, connectors, and tees to wire my
machines together and bring up a network in my basement.

For the record, my machines are these:

- VAXserver 3520 (dual processor CVAX with proprietary backplane). I'll be
running VMS on this so that I can migrate images from the MicroVAX II
to tape via one of my 2000s.

- MicroVAX 3100/30. I have an MFM/SCSI controller installed at the moment,
so I have an RD32 and RX33 attached to that. I have a SCSI TK50 sitting
right here that I'll be moving around the various machines. I believe it's
the MV2000-specifiic version of the TK50 (at any rate, I've never had any
luck running it right off the 3520).

- VAXstation 2000. This is a monochrome system with an RD54 and VMS.
This is my basement X-terminal, and will remain so until after
I have everything else (except the 3520, of course) running NetBSD.

- MicroVAX 2000. This system has an RX33 and and RD32, with the expansion
box. This is the system I will be clustering as a diskless workstation to
the 3520 so that I can build either tapes or floppies on it for use on
either the 2000s or 3100.

- VAXstation 2000. This is a color system, but since I don't have a color
monitor, I'll be running it as a MicroVAX. This one has an RD54 and also an
expansion adapter. Since the RD54 probably has bad spots (there's a list of
them on top of the drive), I'll be reserving it until the bad block support
is ready to be tortured.

- MicroVAX II. This is my NetBSD machine. I have a 3rd-party SCSI
controller connected to an RZ23 (about 100 MB). I've installed
NetBSD on it, loaded the kernel sources onto it, and built a kernel (so I
know I have everything I need to build kernels). It has Ethernet, a TK70,
and a DHV11 that I've not yet managed to get NetBSD to recognize.

I've fetched Bertram's code and printed it out, but I've not started
looking at it yet. I've also not yet copied it to my MicroVAX II.

In short, my status is that I need to do a bit more infrastructure work
before I'm ready to do anything useful.
