The first messages... but not much more

Hello,

after having the pain with trying to boot NetBSD/xen in an unprivileged domain
in Xen running in vmware, i just tried putting Xen between 2 different x86
boxes and a working NetBSD installation. Here my steps:

- Installed NetBSD/i386 2.0 (built with -mcpu=pentium3 if it matters :)
- Built grub, xen12, xentools12, did everything like told in the list, meaning
copying xen-1.2.gz to /grub, configuring /grub/menu.list, installing grub
- Built kernels XEN and GENERIC from config, saved the XEN kernel as
  /grub/xen12netbsd
- Fiddled around in xen12load to get it compiled, put it to /grub
- Padded /netbsd and /grub/xen12netbsd to 4byte boundary
- rebooted.

the /netbsd doesn't boot with grub. But doesn't matter, boot from CD-ROM with
boot -a helps here :)

The Xen/NetBSD (xen-1.2.gz -> xen12load -> xen12netbsd) starts up, the first
messages appear, but it hangs at different places. Sometimes while detecting
the keyboard, sometimes while mounting the root fs.

"hangs" means: it takes long. Minutes... more... to bring up more messages.
And even after half an hour, it never came further than that "copying out path
/sbin/init 11"

The hardware:

1) IBM PC300GL, P3-533, IDE HD, IDE DVD-ROM, 384 MB, runs NetBSD very fine
2) Thinkpad A31, 2 IDE HDs, IDE DVD/RW-combo, 512 MB, also runs NetBSD very
fine

The kernels used are from CVS with netbsd-2-0-RELEASE tags.

Any ideas?

...Michael
