Re: DomU hangs with Xen 3.1

Since switching a server to 3.1 I've been experiencing infrequent hangs
of various domUs. In a recent one, the console of a non-responsive domU
showed:
xbd0: grant still used by backend
dom0 and domU are running NetBSD 4.99.30 on a Pentium 4 platform.
I'm not as knowledgeable as some on this list but if you provide some more
details it may aide an answer, as this doesn't seem to be an issue I've seen
before ...
* Are kernel and userland in sync?
Yes, they are. They were built at from the same source.
* pkg listing for xen related software
xenkernel3-3.1.0nb1
xentools3-3.1.0
* xen config (grub and domu)

serial --unit=0 --speed=115200 --word=8 --parity=no --stop=1

All domUs configuration files follow this pattern using different
physical partitions and mac addresses:

# Python defaults setup for 'xm create'.
# Edit this file to reflect the configuration of your system.
#============================================================================

Attachment.
* Any modifications to the kernel config
Kernel configuration files (deltas from XEN3_DOM0 and XEN3_DOMU) are
attached. The previous Xen2 kernels were defined as identical deltas on
XEN2_DOM0 and XEN2_DOMU.
* What did you switch from? xen 3.0? on the same box?
Xen 2.0.7 with NetBSD 4.99.19 on the same box:
SUPERMICRO 1U P4 5014CM8
CPU -P4-3.2-541 INTEL P4 3.2GHZ 541 1MB EM64T LGA775 CPU

I can't guarantee any of this is going to help but it may show an
inconsistency somewhere. The other possibility is you hit a bad timeframe for
cvs as you are running close to the latest current version.
And just curious as this is not necessarily related ... are you running serial
console or vga?
Serial.
