Simply that the root line now actually implies something whereas in the past 
it was simply being ignored. It has in-fact never been needed by a netbsd 
domu.

No one has actually stated what implications the root= line has for a netbsd 
domu (it may just be that it's failing to ignore it when booting a netbsd 
domu) ... but ... it has been stated numerous times that the root= line is 
specifically for linux and unneeded for netbsd.

The mail archives are flooded with this information ... pretty much any email 
archived containing comments on the existing howto ;)
