Xen 4.8
Hello,
I've just commited packages for xenkernel and xentools version 4.8.0.
I've not done extensive testing yet, so for production I'd still
recommend the 4.6 or 4.5 packages.
xentools48 also builds the stub domains images. The idea of stub domains
is to run sensitive code (e.g. qemu of grub) in its own unprivileged
domU rather than in dom0. You can add
device_model_stubdomain_override = 1
in a HVM config file, and xl create will start the stub domU in addition to
the HVM one. But this should be considered, at best, experimental. I've
found that the stub domU would hang if a serial port is requested, or
if more than one disk is configured.
I don't know what the status of stub domains is on the Xen side.
Also, with Xen 4.8 the PVH v2 domU API is considered stable, so we can start
working on PVH support for NetBSD.
