	hello.  For the serial console issue, it sounds like you can talk to the dom0 in single
user mode.  If you can do that, then to get it working when dom0 is in multiuser mode, you need
to edit /etc/ttys to turn on the appropriate console device.  For xen installations, that is:
console, as opposed to consie.  
My boot.cfg line for booting xen dom0 on an old NetBSD-5.2 machine with ipmi control  is:

menu=Boot Xen and Dom0:load /netbsd console=com1;multiboot /xen/xen.gz dom0_mem=4096m console=com2 com2=115200,8n1
