netbsd-10 fails on tornadovps.com

I configured a 10.0RC1 kernel via grub, and on booting it panics.
I believe -- but am a little fuzzy that:

  tornadovps uses version 1 grant tables

  at some point netbsd 10 did version 2 only, but has now been modified
  to still be willing to do 1.
