All this noise is really because mh/nmh makes a compile time decision as
to how to deliver mail. If they simply compiled in both the "exec sendmail"
and the "connect to port 25" methods, used the latter when the mtstailor
file contains a "servers" line, and used the former otherwise, no-one would
really care which was the default. get nmh fixed, and stop arguing about
the wrong question - neither method is best for everyone (I prefer smtp,
because my mail server isn't the local box, I send mail to one of a few
other systems to be processed, and execing sendmail doesn't work for that.
I don't care if/whether mail from cron and similar noise is ever delivered
anywhere rational, but mail I actually type goes to a well configured mailed.
