the reason this change was done was because by passing the request
to KAUTH_PROCESS_CANSEE, at the moment, only denies if curtian is
enabled. this changes the behavior for this particular part of the
code, because the environment is only visible to the owner or root.

we'll get back to it sometime in the near future.
