Just for another datapoint - my iwi behaviour is pretty much
unchanged.  I normally have wpa_cli running in interactive mode in a
window, it will tell you when rekeying occurs.  In my case the
wireless networking stops not long after a rekeying.

Yes, that seems to be "normal" for ath - I saw that when I was
recently using an ath based wireless.
