Have you loaded the produced module? For me it panics in vfs_opv_init. I saw this months ago when playing with the new module code, but chalked it up to pilot error. Perhaps there are bugs in the linker?
I'll file a PR if you'd like, though I suspect it's trivially reproducible on i386.
