Please could we use "-obsolete-" instead of "-unknown-"?  The use of
"unknown" suggests that the information in the file is incomplete, and
that the file should be updated to have the correct (non-"unknown")
value if anybody ever figures out what the correct value would be.

I have no opinion on whether or not they were pointless, but it would be
nice if the log message explained why they were pointless.
