Pull up following revision(s) (requested by tsutsui in ticket #234):
        tools/Makefile.gnuhost: revision 1.38
Replace not only space but also '(' and ')' on generating BUILD_PLATFORM
strings to appease shell's echo.
Cygwin's uname -r returns "1.7.9(0.237/5/3)" etc.
