Jason,
    the new rc.d stuff has NOT changed the requirement for users to
manually setup the startup for a pkg daemon. You've always had to do
that.

Now, whilst that's not the most optimal behaviour, it is what existed
before, and because it's a bit of a thorny issue I decided not to try
and solve that in the new rc.d stuff in the initial implementation.
