Perhaps you should try actually reading what the `opponents' have
written?

The problem with the current bogus hack is that it DOES NOT do what
you say.  It's still necessary to edit rc.conf to make daemons
actually run.

If we had at least done the /etc/config/ thing, as was suggested...
