	I may be biased, but I think this (integrating this after 1.5 branch
	is cut) is the way to go.  There are couple of us (soda-san and me,
	at least) who are willing to take care of it.

	One issue is dlopen() issues (can't use dlxxx from within dynamically
	linked libraries), as raised several times recently.  Was the issue
	resolved?
