If I login and regularly use a far away remote machine I generally
always set the timzone in my session to be the one local to where I
sit.....

(and if I'm using a remote machine by some other protocol then I expect
it to tell me local times that represent time local to where it sits,
not to where I sit.)

So, yes, I think the timezone could be a very good hint to use when
deciding how to format a calendar display....
