Perhaps fits better here, than on tech-pkg@ ...
I have just tried to fiddle a bit with syspkg and have stumbled
across the problem, that removing -- for example --
the kerberos5 packages yields an unusable
system croaking 'Shared object "libkrb5.so.18" not found',
when trying to login
(fix is to reinstall kerberos5 shlibs).
Any ideas for a clean solution to make it possible to
install/uninstall parts of the authentication system
without having to recompile login, libc, etc?
Is somebody already working on integration of a modular
authentication framework or similar?
And no, I do not suggest using PAM :-).
Thanks,
Peter
