I am getting an ECHILD errno from trying to bind to a socket and
I can't think of why this happens. This occurs in a forked child
process from a monitoring program which should connect to an smtp 
relay and deliver a mail.

bind(2) doesn't mention a echild possibility and searching around
the web didn't lead me to new insights.

Can anyone imagine what could lead to this error in such a situation?

I can send code along, if anyone wants to look at it.
