I agree that we shouldn't blindly follow FreeBSD and OpenBSD.
But if what FreeBSD and OpenBSD choosed is OK, I disagree
that we shouldn't follow FreeBSD and OpenBSD.
And the "_" is NOT bad enough not to follow their decision.
(Actually, having separate name space for system users is rather good
idea).
So, even if we don't make the decision to reserve "_" as system user
namespace, it's OK to follow.
