It does.  But there is no reason to do it that way, unless you've
managed to get stuck in a "MUST MUST MUSTMUSTMUST use getopt()"
mindset.  In which case, well, yes, you will have certain problems; for
example, you will be crippling the range of possible command-line
interfaces you can write.
