AFAIK, nothing in ISO C precents an implementation from having
sizeof(char) = 1; sizeof(int) = 1; CHAR_MAX = 32767, INT_MAX = 32767.
(This was certainly true in C89; I haven't checked the C99 standard, but
I would be surprised if they changed this aspect.)
