Why?

Surely you don't usually run "strings" to find the usage info instead of
just asking the command to tell you its usage.

If I'm not mistaken there are already instances of usage messages that
need run-time formatting, but either way it seems to me that anyone
running "strings" on a program binary and expecting to read nicely
formatted output has got another thing coming.  :-)
